Approaching lenders one at a time costs a business the resource it has least of. Each requires the same documents, each takes its own time, and a decline from one indicates nothing about the next. A network answers within a day or two and produces a spread, which is the only way to establish that the most economical offer is in fact the most economical.

It also means a decline is rarely the end of the matter. Lending partners sit at different points on credit, time trading and revenue, so an application one will not consider is unremarkable to another.
